Sickos Spreading Their Germs
OK. So this is the third day I'm flat on my back with this damned flu. You've heard about it, read about it, and, in all probability, know someone who's got it. My gripe? Those holier-than-thou co-workers who come to work with the bug.
Who do you think you are, spreading your nasty germs and making the rest of us sick? Do you really think someone, anyone, is going to praise you for coming in? You think you're a real trouper, don't you? Well sicko, I've got some bad news.
Those days of Corporate America offering 'perfect attendance' as a step up the ladder are long gone. You're an average Joe, not exceedingly intelligent, and that probably explains a lot. Or maybe you just like the attention, the 'Oh, look at poor Sue. She's so sick but she just couldn't stay home. She is sooo dedicated!'
Give me a break. Your peers, who have any worth at all, are thinking, 'Oh man. Stay away from me! How dare you come in here and sneeze that crap on all of us!'
When a company rewards an employee for 15 years of service with a lousy online gift, worth about 100 bucks, I would find it very hard to believe that your coming to work in your weakened condition is going to be praised upon.
Go home, grow up, pop your pills, and don't come back until you're no longer contagious.
